Jo Green

Instructor

Jo first came to Aqua Babies in 2001 attending classes with her eldest daughter.

With her previous work in the IT industry, Jo’s first experience teaching was when she taught English as a second language in Japan, before taking a break to start a family.

Jo’s enthusiasm for her daughters, Aqua Babies classes and the early swimming skills she achieved meant she was keen to get involved, She trained as a teacher in 2002, taking her first classes in 2003. She now has a wealth of experience and has developed many play-and-learn activities for our toddlers and her classes are always vibrant and bubbly!

“I started with Aqua Babies with my first daughter Holly. As she is now over 18 that was a long time ago. I came from a background in I.T. but when I began lessons with Holly I realised that teaching swimming would a very rewarding line of work and would mean that I could work part-time around Holly. Always a keen swimmer myself, I thought the whole process of teaching children to be water-confidant and water-skilled at an early age was just brilliant. Indeed with both of my girls being amazing swimmers from an early start with Aqua Babies it opened up a huge number of aquatic sports for them; canoeing, kayaking, sailing, surfing, body boarding, coasteering etc. Being confident swimmers has literally changed their lives.”

“Teaching swimming continues to be hugely rewarding, from working with the super confidant children through to those who need more tentative steps and a more individual programme. It is such a joy to see all of them achieve in the water. The children teach me so much and I love connecting with them and working with them to teach them to be super swimmers. There’s never a dull day in the swimming pool.”

What our parents say about Jo Green

“Jo is absolutely fantastic. She clearly loves the children and they know it. She puts them at ease and my son thinks she’s the best.”
