New Bridge School has two pools; the larger Leisure pool is 13m x 7m while the Hydrotherapy pool at 4m x 3m, is ideal for babies and toddlers.
The inviting water temperature is between 33-35˚C and is a comfortable 1.2m deep – just under chest height on a 5’2” person.
Classes in the Hydrotherapy pool are kept deliberately small. With just six babies at any session, so that your teacher can help you enter the water by holding baby for you. There is also some poolside viewing – it’s very warm so we suggest you wear something light, like a t-shirt!
Parents sign in at reception and on your first visit someone will be on hand to show you to the pool area, where there is space for buggies, car seats and shoes – keeping the changing room and poolside floors clean.
The Hydrotherapy pool is on the left with female changing at the poolside. In here a bench/bed can be used to change baby or for those of you who prefer the safety of the floor for wriggly babies, further changing mats are available. There are also two cubicles off the entrance area for male changing.
The larger Leisure pool is used by our toddlers and has its own changing rooms.
Aqua Babies has been privileged to use this specialist school’s facilities since it opened its new building in 2005. Money raised from our pool hire helps to keep the facilities in top condition for the children at the school.
